The Cincinnati Insurance Companies' IT department is currently seeking an experienced project manager to establish and manage enterprise-wide, cross-functional strategic initiatives and directly manage all aspects of the SDLC for large and complex IT and business projects.



Be ready to:

directly manage all aspects of the application development project lifecycle and works with matrix partners to oversee all phases of the project

rigorously manage scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed on time, cost and quality parameters

create realistic project and quality plans which include project interdependencies

analyze, diagnose, design, plan, execute and evaluate work to time, cost and quality targets

estimate costs, time and resource requirements

track all activities against the project plan

monitor budget, schedule and resources used, and take action where deviation from agreed tolerances occurs

identify, assess and manages risk to the success of the project

identifies, assess and manage issues and escalate them so that they do not impact project viability

provide regular and accurate status reports to project sponsor, project executives and senior management

operate phase containment by ensuring all deliverables for the phase are produced and meet agreed quality criteria, next phase plan is complete, and lessons learned are gathered and documented

collaborate with other managers within the business units to manage expectations

assist in recovery of challenged projects



Be equipped with:

five or more years of recent project management experience, including the management of large and strategic initiative that span more than 12 months

recent experience collaborating, facilitating, leading and coaching Scrum teams, ability to manage in multi-methodology world; project teams could be traditional, scrum or a combination.

demonstrated ability to translate business objectives to project plan and the ability to communicate on progress of business objective deliverables.

the ability to quickly earn the trust of others, set direction and approach, resolve conflicts, deliver difficult messages with grace and act with limited information and ambiguity

ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision both written and verbally.

communicating effectively through presentations and meeting facilitation

organizing, planning and managing time

managing projects with executive level visibility and interaction

proven ability to manage large project efforts involving multiple business units and support organizations

ability to assist in contract negotiations with 3rd party vendors and ability to manage that relationship through implementation

ability to navigate a highly matrixed organization effectively.

familiar with managing large multi-million-dollar projects involving more than 15 team members on efforts with significant business implications across multiple areas

maintaining a high sense of urgency and operating with a passion to succeed

proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

providing excellent customer service

negotiating and influencing

problem solving and critical thinking

an intermediate level of Microsoft Office experience

sound business and technical acumen

proficient experience with Microsoft Project

Preferred:

familiar with managing insurance industry projects (highly preferred)

SharePoint experience

Project Management Professional Certification

experience in LEAN, Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies
