The Role

This role leads the Home Lending Servicing Claims and Default Accounts Payable team. The team is responsible for reviewing, approving, paying and recovering expenses related to protecting Wells Fargo's and Loan Investors' interest in the collateral properties securing mortgage loans and home equity lines of credit owned and serviced by Wells Fargo. The team is responsible for collecting over $1 Billion per year from Loan Investors, ensuring outstanding accuracy, as well as partnering with all Home Lending Servicing teams to maximize reimbursement of these expenses. The team is located in West Des Moines, IA and Enterprise Global Service locations in Bangalore and Hyderabad, India.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Driving and holding the organization accountable for accuracy and timeliness, as well as identifying and resolving issues quickly and effectively

Driving, aiding and holding partner teams accountable to minimize expenses that will not be reimbursed by Loan Investors

Designs, develops and implements processes and controls to ensure document accuracy, ability to record and meeting all legal and investor requirements

Designs, develops and implements processes and measurements to ensure proper handling of expenses

Works closely with Legal, Investor Services, Operational Risk and other stakeholders to ensure Federal and State legal requirements, investor requirements and all policies and standards are followed and executed accurately

Leads the efforts to resolve past issues customers have experienced and address root cause to prevent future issues

Ensure all notary and affidavit requirements are met on time 100% of the time

The Candidate

The successful candidate will work closely with business lines and leadership across Wells Fargo Home Lending. Accordingly, critical success factors will include the ability to manage effectively in a matrix organization, develop partnerships with many businesses and functional areas, increase team member engagement.

Leadership and credibility will be determining factors in selection. Successful candidates will be articulate and possess a demonstrated leadership capability; they will have strong interpersonal effectiveness and be recognized for accomplishments related to a hands-on approach to hiring, retaining, and developing a world-class diverse staff.

Required Qualifications

8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, implementation, or strategic planning

6+ years of management experience in a planning environment

Other Desired Qualifications

A seasoned leader with at least 8+ years of increasing responsibility in mortgage operations.

Minimum 6 years management experience required including success managing multiple locations leading a significant number of team members.

Demonstrated ability to partner and deliver results in a complex and matrixed organization.

Proven experience in working with Operational Risk Management, implementing and executing policies driven by Rules, Regulations and Operational Risk.

Demonstrated financial acumen including effective budgeting, planning and forecasting

Demonstrated ability to manage a pipeline.

Relationship building and ability to drive decision making through a consensus building approach.

Demonstrated ability to identify and act upon trends.

Demonstrated excellence at identifying stakeholders, understanding needs, and driving to resolution.

Results oriented with outstanding ability to motivate teams and mobilize the resources to accomplish objectives.

Job Expectations

This position requires compliance with all mortgage regulatory requirements and Wells Fargo's compliance policies related to these requirements including acceptable background check investigation results. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and required reporting of certain incidents.
