Description:



The main responsibility of this position is to set and

drive the execution of the overall technical account strategy on a worldwide

basis for the assigned named accounts.

The objective is to impact the growth of Mentors revenue contract to

contract: to drive penetration, adoption, and add-on sales, to broaden product usage

portfolio and competitive replacements, and to defend existing install base

within the account. This position can be

based in the SF Bay Area or San Diego.



Responsibilities:



Understand and document:



+ Design flows and tools utilized by thecustomer.



+ Current and desired states related to customerinitiatives.



+ Competitive position within customer base o Keytechnical contacts



+ Major projects and programs



As part of the overall Account Plan, the TAM will

contribute profile information regarding the account:



+ Organizational structure



+ Functional organization of business units



+ Market segments and end products of thecustomer



Develop Technical Account and Opportunity Plans, consistent

with overall account plan, using established templates focused on achieving

targeted growth:



+ Develop Technical Account Plans encompassingcustomers technical initiatives and challenges as well as a long term strategyof engagement and relationship building at the higher technical levels withinaccounts.



+ Establish priorities for engagements based oncustomer initiatives and needs



+ Align opportunity plans as appropriate tocorporate Interlock initiatives.



+ Develop competitive replacement and newtechnology penetration plans based on account profile to expand our portfolioand grow our business.



+ Define phase position, win, satisfy foropportunity, and state objectives for engagement.



+ Identify resource needs and establishschedules for resource deployment.



+ Work with local technical management anddivision to develop and document detailed tactical plans for opportunity.



+ Develop Site plans where appropriate based onAccount and Opportunity Plans.



Communicate Technical Account and Opportunity Plans with

key stakeholders:



+ Ensure technical management is in alignmentwith Technical Account and Opportunity Plans overall strategies andobjectives.



+ Present overall Technical Account andOpportunity Plans and updates to Divisions as needed.



+ Establish technical update calls with local andremote technical resources as needed, including AEs, CSD, MCD and TMEs.



+ Establish accountability and reporting forexecuting tactical plan.



+ Track technical obstacles and product issues.



Establish Key Technical Relationships:



+ Determine customers key technical drivers andinfluencers by business unit and site as part of the profiling process.



+ Engage with the customer as frequently aspractical, establishing relationships at appropriate levels within theorganization.



+ Coordinate Technical Review Meetings (TRM)between the customer and divisions as appropriate.



+ Connect with Mentor Graphics divisionmarketing and technical managers o Represent customer and their issues to thedivision.



+ Represent division to the customer,communicating product direction, roadmaps and issue status.



+ Drive Mentor Graphics awareness campaignswithin customer base.



+ Track customer project and program status.



+ Travel to remote sites as needed toestablish/maintain key customer relationship and local team support.



Driving execution:



+ Manage execution and accountability ofdeliverables by field/factory resources through formal processes.



+ Ensure that Opportunity/Site Plans remaincurrent, and that OST tracking is up-to-date



+ Track project and program status



+ Understand organizational dynamics



Reporting and Accountability:



+ The TAM will provide appropriate reportingregarding status, issues, account activity and progress as needed by management
