HGV Technician – VMU
£15.00 - £16.00 per + shift allowance

Based in Berkshire/ Oxfordshire
Shift pattern is: Days 4 on 4 off 6am-6am & Nights 4 on 4 off 6pm-6am

My client, one of the largest commercial Automotive dealer groups nationwide, with branches based in Berkshire, Wiltshire and West London to name a few. Due to continued growth and success within the Motor Trade, they are now seeking HGV Technicians to join their Berkshire and Oxfordshire dealerships! You must have a minimum Level 3 City and Guilds qualification or equivalent or you must possess at least 2 to 3 years recent experience as an Auto Technician in a Workshop. You must be fully qualified as a Motor Technician and have your own tools.

The ideal candidate must be a team player, able to work to deadlines and targets but also be self-motivated, organised and able to multi task; to cope with the constant flow of work. Good servicing and diagnostic skills are required for this position.HGV Technician Key Responsibilities:

- Carry out routine inspections, maintenance and repairs on all makes of vehicles and trailers to DVSA standard
- Carry out C&S maintenance related work using our PC diagnostics tools
- Ensure all vehicles worked on are handled carefully and that all precautions are taken whilst on the premises
- Liaise with parts department to attain parts
- Ensure Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to
- Maintain a thorough and current product knowledge and attend training courses as required
- Provide support and training to apprentices and junior technicians

HGV Technician Experience and Skills required:

- City & Guilds or NVQ qualified technician up to Level 3 or proven experience repairing and maintaining vehicles
- HGV class 1 (C+E) licence is essential
- Mechanical, Electrical and Hydraulic knowledge is essential
- Work within guidelines given and to strict deadlines
- Time-management skills, able to prioritise
- Ability to actively seek solutions to problems
- Work as part of a team as well as independently
- Solid communication skills
- Excellent customer care skills
- Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements
