KS1 Teacher required for 2 form entry ‘Good’ Primary School located in Accrington. NQT’s and experienced Teachers are encouraged to apply for this role and will be required for medium and longer-term cover across the school.

The achievement is good, and pupils’ progress has improved over the last 12 months. Standards are rising and pupils in Year 6 are now reaching the level expected and, in some cases, above National average for their age in reading, writing and mathematics. Children get off to a good start in the Early Years Foundation Stage and the adults know the children well and therefore plan exciting activities which are well-matched to their needs and abilities. Pupils’ behaviour is good in school and this proved on a daily basis. The children get on well together and support each other in lessons. They are spontaneously polite and very helpful towards each other and staff.
The school has gone through some staffing changed over the last 18 months and with a new Head Teacher in post, now has a clear vision that all staff are working towards to achieved. There is over 60 staff members, who currently work across 2 form EYFS, KS1 and KS2. Class sizes vary from 27-36 pupils and there is a high percentage of pupils in school with EAL and SEMH. The staff team work closely together as a team to support and achieve the highest of standards.
The ideal candidate for this role will be someone who works hard towards achieving the very best, and ensures all pupils are catered for in lessons. Excellent classroom management and someone who is well organised and committed to providing all pupils with a creative and stimulating learning experience is essential for this role. The school are seeking a team member who can develop excellent relationships with all members of our whole school community, has a high standard of professionalism, a commitment to the development of the ethos of the school and a determination to continuous improvement.

This is a full-time role based on medium and longer term cover in school as the dedicated supply cover teacher. The successful candidate will be required to plan, deliver and assessed to mixed ability age groups. The successful candidate will play a specific role in maintaining and ensuring new pupils achieve the ‘Outstanding’ progress and development.
The school is easily accessible from Junction 6, 7 and 8 of the M65. It is also 15 minute walk from Accrington train station.
