Finance & Accounts Assistant
Salary negotiable depending on experience
6 month Fixed Term Contract
MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE:
Our client are currently seeing a Finance and Accounts Assistant for a fixed term of 6 months. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Finance and Accounts Assistant will support in general accounting activities.
The organisation’s finances were brought back in house in April 2018 after being outsourced to a firm of accountants. A new finance system, Xero, has been implemented and the Financial Controller is currently initaiting further efficiencies to speed up the monthly accounting process. A Finance & Accounts Assistant is required to support the Financial Controller in the transition period.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Managing the company Payables including:
− Managing the purchase order process
− Processing invoices
− Supporting the creditor management process
Managing the company Receivables including:
− Raising invoices
− Supporting the debtor management process
Carrying out reconciliations including:
− Bank reconciliations;
− Credit card account reconciliations
− Petty cash reconciliations
− Other Balance Sheet reconciliations such as: debtors, creditors, wages, pension
Preparing monthly journal preparation such as: fixed assets, payroll recharges
− Accounting knowledge
− Knowledge of online accounting software, ideally Xero
− Knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Word etc.
Minimum of 1-2 years previous experience in a finance support role
SKILLS & ABILITIES
− IT skills
− Ability to analyse complex data with accuracy
− Ability to present complex information both orally and in a written format
− Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
− Pro-active and highly resourceful
− Ability to speak Welsh would be advantageous
− Willingness to work flexibly to meet the reasonable needs of the company.
− Commitment to working in accordance with the company’s values.
− Self-sufficient in use of information and communications technology.
− Ability to self-manage a full and varied workload.
− Valid driving license and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel.

The Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003, require us to keep work-seeker records for at least one year from the date of their creation or after the date on which we last provide work-finding services. Where applicable, we must also keep payroll records, holiday pay, sick pay and pensions auto-enrolment records for as long as is legally required by HMRC and associated national minimum wage, social security and tax legislation.
